The problem

Jira wasn't built for you.

It was built for your manager's manager. And Atlassian just forced you to pay 3–5x more for the privilege.

— Hacker News, 2024

"It is still unbelievably, unjustifiably, just incredibly and amazingly so very very goddamn slow."

— r/devops, 2025

"Jira is optimized for productivity theater and top-down management. Not for shipping."

The Atlassian forced migration created a gap nobody has filled:

😤
Jira + Confluence
3–5x price hike. Forced cloud. 5–45s per click. Two tools to pay for.
SprintKit
€49/team/month
Boards + docs + sprints + forecasts. EU-hosted. One tool.
💸
Linear
Issues only. No docs. No CLI. US-headquartered, CLOUD Act exposure.
Features

Everything Jira + Confluence does.
Faster. For less.

One tool replaces your entire Atlassian stack.

Kanban boards, backlogs, and sprints — without the 30-second page loads.

Sub-100ms UI. Drag-and-drop boards. Backlog grooming. Sprint planning. Everything Jira does — minus the €28/user/month bill. Manage issues from the web or your terminal.

Team wiki. Markdown. Linked to issues.

v2

Write docs in Markdown, linked to issues or sprints. Runbooks, ADRs, onboarding guides — all in one place. No more Confluence tabs.

Zero-config GitHub sync.

Name a branch feat/SP-247 — SprintKit auto-links it. Merge the PR — issue auto-closes. No webhooks, no plugins, no setup.

gh pr merge --squash
✓ SP-247 closed · velocity updated

Know your ship date. With confidence.

Monte Carlo runs 10,000 scenarios on your real throughput. Jira Advanced Roadmaps charges €28/user/month for this. We built it in.

First-class CLI. Not a workaround.

Every action available from the terminal. The unofficial jira-cli has 12,400 stars — demand is real. We're building the official one.

sprintkit create "fix auth" --assign @max
✓ SP-248 created

EU-hosted. Truly yours. Always exportable.

SaaS on AWS Frankfurt (eu-central-1). No CLOUD Act exposure. Signed DPA (AVV) included. One command exports everything as Markdown ZIP — no support ticket, no paywall. Height shut down in 2025 and teams lost everything. We designed against that from day one. Or self-host — then we never touch your data.

Setup

Running in 60 seconds.

1

Import from Jira, Confluence, or Linear

No CSV exports, no manual recreation. One command imports your full history — issues, sprints, doc pages, labels, comments, assignees.

sprintkit init --import jira
✓ 312 issues · 8 sprints · full history preserved
2

Open the board. Your team is up in minutes.

Invite your team, connect GitHub, and you're running. Fast board, working sprints, docs next to issues where they belong.

3

Work your way — web, CLI, or both.

PMs use the board. Developers use the terminal. Both are first-class — no degraded experience in either direction.

Atlassian forced 100,000+ teams onto cloud at 3–5x the price. That's the gap we're filling.
"I've managed AWS infrastructure for EU-regulated clients for 10 years. I lived through the Jira Server migration. I built SprintKit because every team I know needs one tool — fast, open source, with their data staying in Europe."

FAQ

Honest answers.

Is this just another PM tool that will shut down in 18 months?
SprintKit is MIT-licensed open source. The code lives on GitHub. If the SaaS shuts down, you run docker run sprintkit and nothing breaks. Height shut down in 2025 and teams lost everything. We designed against that from day one.
We tried migrating from Jira once. How is this different?
sprintkit init --import jira imports from Jira CSV in one command. No manual recreation, no lost history, no mapping spreadsheets. We made the migration the easy part.
Is the EU hosting actually meaningful or just marketing?
SaaS runs exclusively on AWS Frankfurt (eu-central-1). No US data transfer. Linear and GitHub are US-headquartered — subject to the CLOUD Act. SprintKit is not. We provide a signed DPA (AVV). Or self-host — we never touch your data.
How does the Monte Carlo forecast work?
We take your team's actual throughput over the last 12 weeks, run 10,000 random simulations, and report completion dates at 50%, 85%, and 99% confidence. Pure statistics — no black box. Jira Advanced Roadmaps charges €28/user/month for this. We built it in.
Does it work without the web UI?
Yes. The CLI is a first-class interface, not a thin wrapper. Create, update, close, assign, sprint management, forecasts, export — all from the terminal. Both interfaces are complete.

Stop paying for Jira.
